Angelina Jolie Has Chicken Pox, Will Miss ‘Unbroken’ Premiere
Yes, the 39-year-old actress has chicken pox. Jolie posted a video on YouTube today explaining why she’d be missing the premiere of her new movie.
Jolie said: “I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the Unbroken events in the next few days … I will be home itching and missing everyone, and I can’t believe it ’cause this film means so much to me.”
Chicken pox is primarily a child illness but it can be quite serious if caught when an adult. According to Jolie, she has a “mild bout” of chicken pox and isn’t too worried about the illness. In fact, she kind of thinks its funny.
Jolie said: “You have to laugh at the timing … I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting Unbroken. I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louie’s family, Phil’s daughter Karen, veterans and all the guests who are coming.” Jolie will miss the premiere of Unbroken but her family still plans on attending. According to Universal Studios, Brad Pitt and his children will attend the premiere without Angelina.
Universal said: “We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon. She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres.”
